We work with consultancies, manufacturers and retailers and cover the whole of the interior design industry, both nationwide and overseas.
Within the commercial interiors sector (hotels, spas, restaurants, clubs, offices, retail, healthcare and education to name a few) clients require candidates with all-round skills, both technical and creative including surveying and feasibility studies, plans, elevations and technical drawing packages, space planning, visuals and presentation materials, co-coordinating of sub-contactors, as well as specifying and procurement of all FF&E, client liaison and site supervision.
A knowledge of a variety of CAD packages is also essential such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp, 3D Studio, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Showhome and residential design also requires all-round skills such as many listed above but the emphasis is particularly placed on fabrics and furnishings, styling and interior decorating (FF&E).

The kitchen design, supply and manufacturing industry has grown considerably with a large selection for companies to choose from. There are the smaller independent studios catering for the higher end of the market, kitchen cabinetmakers producing bespoke one-off items and the national retailers offering a variety of ranges to suit all budgets. All of these will employ kitchen designers who are either in a client facing, sales and design role or who support the sales team carrying out CAD technical drawings, layouts and 3D visuals.
Over the years we have helped our clients to find kitchen designers for council / social housing projects, new housing developments and showhomes and for private clients with £100k+ budgets. At this higher end of the market they offer a more bespoke service and will require designers with particularly strong design flair and hand drawing skills and excellent presentation and communication skills.

Candidates who we have found suitable positions for with our clients, tend to have design qualifications from diplomas through to degree level within an interior, furniture or product design discipline. Some companies however are more interested in a designer’s CAD or sales skills than specific qualifications. The common packages used are Planit/20:20 Fusion, Compusoft Winner and ArtiCAD.
We provide recruitment services for the placement of furniture designers, CAD technicians and cabinet makers working in both the residential / domestic and commercial arenas.
Our candidates have found jobs with furniture designers, joinery and shopfitting companies and cabinetmakers supplying bespoke furniture directly to private clients, the high street retail marketplace and in the form of kitchen, bathroom and bedroom furniture. We also work closely within the contract and office marketplace with candidates experienced in seating, office furniture, desking and furniture for hotels, hospitality and retail projects.

As the job title implies, the main part of any space planner’s role will be to take the brief and work out floor and furniture layouts, plans, elevations and then often produce 3D perspectives. Nearly every type of project whether large or small will require some element of space planning to be carried out. On larger scale projects, such as office and retail sites, dedicated space planners will normally be used. For smaller projects the space planning is often included within the interior designer’s remit. Our clients, specialist workspace, office fit-out and facility management consultancies employ space planners to ensure the space works well in terms of traffic flow, building regulations, fire safety, disability access, IT and telecoms cabling, power supplies, heating, ventilation and lighting schemes.
Candidates that we have placed in space planning jobs have displayed various skills including; the ability to talk through a brief with the client, producing floor plans, 3D visuals and 3D animated walk-throughs, specifying FF&E from initial concept through to installation. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential as they have to liaise with appropriate external authorities and work alongside in-house (or contacted) surveyors and designers to coordinate the overall project. Our candidates are normally conversant with a variety of software, in particular AutoCAD and 3D Studio and have usually completed a 2 year diploma, HND or a degree in a design discipline.
As well as traditional space planning vacancies we can also handle micro space planning roles where the emphasis is on merchandising, product layout and the optimization of space usage for various products in a retail environment.
